Reading supports language development but it does much more than that. Reading helps focus attention, develops empathy, social skills, and critical literacy skills. And the earlier you introduce your students to stories, the better!
As teachers, we are fully aware that ‘good readers make good learners’ and one sure way of firing our students’ imagination is through stories. We all have a favourite book that is dear to us.
Reading supports language development but it does much more than that. Reading helps focus attention, develops empathy, social skills, and critical literacy skills. And the earlier you introduce your students to stories, the better!
However as ‘busy’ English teachers, how do we actually go about integrating reading, alongside a course book like ‘Marbles’?
We will use examples from-‘The Thinking Train’, by Herbert Puchta -an innovative series of primary-level readers which focus on the development of children’s thinking skills through the use of stories.
During the presentation- we will show you briefly some of the wonderful resources available on HELBLING e-zone kids, which include online games, flashcards & a super dooper ‘Testbuilder’ to save you time.
Teacher Trainer Olga Bededkova will introduce ‘Total Physical response’ through Grammar for Marbles & show you to ‘boost’ your students in Ukraine & Moldova with our companions add-ons.
All teachers who participate will receive trial access to HELBLING e-zone kids to explore the full digital and testing resources.
